what’s the story?

basically…

*pipless jam is a little company, manned by rosie cunningham, based in glasgow and partly in suzhou, china. there’s lots of illustration work and knick-knackery; stories, badges, brooches, necklaces, poetry calendars, letter writing sets, cards, that sort of thing.

the short story…
there’s at least two sides to *pipless jam. the first is rosie as a freelance illustrator; writing poetry and stories and embellishing them with drawings. there’s fun little writing sets and poetry calendars (heading for a glorious fourth year with the 2010 edition!). soon to come are books, cards and maps. the other side has an element of recycling and reusing with a collection of old rubbish things, like torn comics, old stamps, posters, games with missing pieces made into new things like brooches and badges.

once upon a time there was a girl who liked being silly. she was silly when she was drawing and writing and making things. soon there was no space in her house for all the silly (but fun and nice) things she had created.
“aha!” she said. “I will give away these silly things to make people happy!” soon many people had these things and they were happy. but there were some people who wanted to buy them for other people.
“you should have a business” they said, “so that people you do not know may also have silly times with you”. the girl agreed. she gave it a silly name, *pipless jam. that is why *pipless jam is a silly business.
